Haldia Unit

The Haldia facility was established in 1979 by Unilever Group and was taken over by Tata Chemicals in 2004. Indorama India Private Limited (IIPL) acquired the phosphatic fertiliser business in June 2018, including the popular Paras brand which has enjoyed the trust of farmers in Eastern and North-East India for over 30 years.
The facility’s first Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) plant was set up in 1985, utilising advanced pressure reactor technology from Norsk Hydro, UK. In 1999, a complex fertiliser line was installed to manufacture DAP along with various grades of NPK fertilisers. The two plants, DAP-1 and DAP-2, each have a DAP production capacity of 900 TPD, while DAP-2 also has an NPK10 production capacity of 1650 TPD.

In 1999, a Single Super Phosphate (SSP) plant with a capacity of 400 TPD was commissioned. The plant underwent a revamp in 2011, increasing its capacity to 600 TPD. To support the core manufacturing process of the facility, two Sulphuric Acid plants, SAP-1 and SAP-2, with respective capacities of 450 TPD and 300 TPD, were installed. All three plants utilise technology from Monsanto DMCC Enviro-Tech & Engineering Ltd. The complex also includes a 10,000 MT ammonia storage facility.

The Jagdishpur facility was established in October 1983 as Indo Gulf Fertilisers and Chemicals Corporation Ltd. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the then-Prime Minister of India, Ms. Indira Gandhi, with commercial production commencing in November 1988.
Situated along the 1700 km long Hazira-Vijaipur-Jagdishpur (HVJ) gas pipeline, this fertiliser complex comprises a single stream ammonia plant based on Haldor Topsoe Technology, two streams of urea plant based on Saipem Technology, and various off-site facilities.

The facility started with a urea production capacity of 2620 TPD in 1988. Over the years, it underwent several revamps, with the final phase concluding in 2014. It currently boasts a urea production capacity of 3340 TPD.

2017 marked the launch of Oorja, an organic fertiliser. Subsequently, a dedicated plant with a capacity of 20 TPD plant was set up for its production. Presently, a CFG plant is also being used to manufacture Oorja at a rate of 60 TPD.

IIPL acquired this storied facility in 2022 for USD 355 million. This strategic acquisition has positioned us as the third-largest private sector producer of fertilisers in India, enabling us to expand our production to meet the growing demand in the agricultural sector.

Spandex Division

Indorama India Private Limited (IIPL) is the largest producer of spandex yarns in India. The plant was commissioned in 2012 with an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons. It is located in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The company's spandex yarn is marketed under the “INVIYA” brand. It’s sold primarily to domestic spun yarn producers, knitters, and texturizers in the Indian textile industry. The state-of-the-art plant is equipped with the latest continuous polymerization technology and dry-spun technology to produce spandex yarns. The principal raw materials, which are PTMEG and MDI, are imported from Asia. The company also has a continuous polymerization pilot plant to produce different polymer recipes as part of its product development activities. The current production capacity is close to 24,000 MT a year to meet the growing demands of the Indian textile industry.
